The Trustees are keen to improve the racing opportunities and technical coaching offered to young scullers. Junior girls and boys now enter sculling events in approximately equal numbers and the Trustees want to encourage such parity to be extended to coaching at all levels.
The Scullery has funding in 2023/24 to offer five grants of up to £1,000 each to organisations running projects or events that will contribute to the development of Junior Sculling in the UK.
Suitable projects might, for example, include a skills programme for sculling coaches, a regatta that fills a gap for Juniors in the rowing calendar, or a learn to scull course for young people who are not from a traditional rowing background.
Grants are not usually made for the following: Learn to row courses run annually by clubs as a fundraising project or for general intake of members; Projects for large well-funded organisations; Running costs of established organisations or ongoing projects; Organisations outside of the UK.
Applications should be made using the form below. Closing date for applications to be advised, but not before 1st May 2024
