OJ16 4x and WJ16 4x: distance 5400m - 3 legs of 1800m

OJ17 4x and WJ17 4x: distance 5400m - 3 legs of 1800m

OJ18 4x and WJ18 4x: distance 5400m - 3 legs of 1800m

Prizes

Trophies for the fastest Open Crew and Women's Crew.
Medals for Winners of each Category provided 4 enter.
Medals for fastest Second Crews provided minimum of 4 racing.
Silver and Bronze Medals provided there are 6 entries.
Victor Ludorum prize for most successful School or Club in both Open and Women's categories.

Special notice

In order to reduce time waiting and getting cold, crews in J14 and J15 events will race as follows:

Warm up on land before boating.
Boat from pontoons, scull for about 200m, start to race at the 1900m mark on the course ie 100m from the finish tower in the direction of the course start.
Race for 1800m towards the course start and finish racing at the 100m mark.
Paddle until close to the start pontoons, turn and paddle to the other side of the course, turn and resume racing for the second leg at 100m, finishing at 1900m.
Paddle back to the pontoons.

J16, J17 and J18 crews will warm up on the water paddling to the start, then race 3 legs of 1800m between the 100m-1900m, 1900m-100m and 100m-1900m marks as in previous years.

Rules

The event will be run under BR rules of racing.

All boats MUST display BR-standard identity codes, being three-letter code attributed to the club, together with a three-digit fleet number (including zeros) as determined by the Club i.e. GBR 021. Lettering must be in capital letters, in a regular sans serif (Arial style font), with a minimum height of 6 cm. This must be clearly legible, above the waterline, in a contrasting colour to the boat and displayed on both port and starboard bow, saxboard or adjacent vertical surface.

No Composite Crews.
All athletes must scull for the club where they carry out their usual day-to-day training and those registered with BIRO must scull for their nominated club.
No Doubling up.
No more than 50% of Crew may be J13.
No J12, or younger, athletes.

Save in circumstances disclosed to the committee prior to the entry being made and accepted by them as exceptional, competitors must have been registered as School or Club members by the 1 st September previous to the Head. The committee reserves the right to refuse an entry without explanation, (BR rule 5.2.3(c)), and it will do so if it feels clubs/competitors are competing under “Flags of Convenience”. Entries and Payment via BROE only, cheques will not be accepted.

Closing date for entries:

In the event of cancellation a proportion of the fee may be returned.
